Inside of me, some sight to see.

THANK GOD FOR THE SMART TECHIE FRIEND OF MY FATHER. Otherwise, I wouldn't be (finally) posting something right now, and would instead be forced to - gasp! - INTERACT WITH MY FAMILY. Yuuccckk. Who wants that?

Sososo! You all glad I'm back? SURE YOU ARE! (And even if you aren't, I'm totally gonna pretend you're obsessed with me and were fussing and worrying when I went MIA for a month or whatever. So don't tell me otherwise! =) ) I'm glad to be back, too. Hoolyyy I have a lot of new posts to read. Damn you bloggers and your frequent updates! (Jk. But only sort of.)

Hmm. Let's see. What's happened since I last blogged?...

LIFE LESSONS LEARNED
- do not, under any circumstances, drink 22 drinks in 4 hours on your 18th birthday. I don't care if you're obese, a body builder, or an alcoholic. You will have an awesome night, then vomit to end off the night, then still be drunk in the morning but with a hangover to crown all hangovers. SO NOT PLEASANT. (I did meet tons of cute boys, though. Hmm...that part was worth it...)
- if a friend is constantly busy hanging out with screwing her needy boyfriend, don't expect her to actually make any plans she keeps with you (although those "plans" are few and far between with minimal detail discussed). In extreme cases, prepare to say "sayanara" to your friendship (which is what I had to do) after they blow you off upwards of 5 times in a row. If friend begs for forgiveness, give them a second chance, but never a third. Or fourth. Or whatever it is they think they deserve (but totally don't).
- never EVER give out your last name at a bar, not matter how drunk you are. Or your real first name, for that matter. You'll end up with creepy guys Facebook-stalking you or trying to follow you into the girls' bathroom to make plans, even after you've said "I'm busy" for every suggested day into next month. If Mr. Creeper still persists, it's best to either a) get other guy friends involved so he'll back off or b) tell him you're a lesbian (although, depending on how plastered he is, that might actually entice him to chance you more, so weigh this one carefully).
- moving SUCKS, especially when it's from home to university. Even more so when you still haven't gone shopping for furniture and you move in in just over 2 weeks. Just wing it?
- while clothes made in Bangladesh may look cute and cost little more than pennies, any buttons on the items of clothing WILL fall off, and the seaming will start to unravel upon it's first wear out of the store. (God damn you and your stylish clothes, H&M!)
- GET 8 HOURS OF SLEEP PER NIGHT IN THE SUMMER. Otherwise your sleep schedule is totally fucked - and so are you - if you have to do anything of importance that requires concentration and some degree of intelligence/hand-eye co-ordination.

So umm, my life to date since my last post sounds pretty pathetic and sad when summed up into 6 bullets of warning. I swear, it hasn't been. Plus, I finally beat my lung infection/allergy/disease/whatever-the-hell-I-had-that-the-doctors-couldn't-figure-out-and-ultimately-made-worse! :D (Oh, and I got my nose pierced!)

What have you all been up to?

ps. Random pictures are always nice.

69. I'm afraid to sleep because of what haunts me, such as living with the uncertainty that I'll never find the words to say - that would completely explain - just how I'm breakin' down.

1. OHMYGOSSHH. Is anyone else completely and totally inlove with the new TV series Pretty Little Liars?!?!?!?

GAAAHH. Holy jeebus. I have become completely and totally hooked on the show, and every Tuesday night is like Christmas morning when I was five. I mean, it's just oh-so-dramatic and deep and insightful (HAHAHAHA, JAYKAY, I just need to try to justify my sudden, insane - and really pathetic- fan-girlishness) that I think about it constantly and wish I knew them.

I mean, come on - there are so many things going on at once I practically need a palm pilot to dedicate to this series! It's like the new soap-opera-mixed-with-the-Hills-with-a-dash-of-Gossip-Girl-and-a-splash-of-the-O.C. And, somehow, it's completely appealing, no matter how totally ridiculous and completely unrealistic it is.

And, of course, most importantly, they live fabulous lifestyles (mostly) and look gorgeous all the time. Naturally, since I'm addicted to polyvore and want to own every single piece of clothing in Aria's closet, this happened:

3. I've recently re-discovered and become totally consumed by the awesome addictiveness/repetitiveness that is Pokemon, which I have been playing on my Nintendo DS endlessly over the past few days. Unfortunately, I suck and have only fought one Gym Leader so far. :'( ISN'T THIS GAME MEANT FOR 8 YEAR OLDS ANYWAYS?!?! Baaahhh. But the graphics are so colorful and the Pokemon are so adorbs! UGGHH. Faacckk yoouuu, clever Japanese game designers!

See? Totally irresistibly cute!

4. I'm 18 in three days. Which means I'm legally an adult where I live. Which means I can legally do all the things that I now do illegally. Which means that I'll have responsibilities. Which means Saturday is like a double-edged sword. (Also, I'll have to say goodbye to childhood.                                                                                                                                  HAHAH JUST KIDDING. I'm gonna be making fart jokes and giggling like a school girl when I'm fifty.)

ANYWAYZ, my 18th will be full of alcoholic, partyin' fun. ;)

Yay for glorified shenanigans and liver damage! :D

67). The dust has only just begun to fall. Crop circles in the carpet; sinking, feeling...

(Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap)

Hello there. :) I've been so wrapped up in literature recently that I haven't had time to blog! (This is a first. Seriously. I'm like addicted to blogging and reading others' blogs. I'm amazed I didn't experience withdrawal symptoms.) Right now I'm reading Beautiful Boy by David Sheff, which is a hauntingly beautiful and painful recollection of a father's experience with his son's addiction to crystal meth. Since I've read said son's book of his own perspective during addiction (Tweak by Nic Sheff), this book is even more intriguing to me than it would be as a stand-alone experience because this novel fills in the bits and pieces missing from Nic's book and provides a deeper understanding of how much a disease affects not just the addicted person, but everyone around them, both physically and mentally. Though at times stark and abrasive, the text paints a vivid picture of pain, confusing, and, mostly, hurt, and makes the reader really sympathize with David and his family. The reader also becomes very attached to Nic, because it is obvious, through David's words, that he is a pure soul who simply took a wrong turn somewhere along the path of life, and that he is worthy of a better life. Overall, I recommend both books to anyone who has either experienced an addiction, known someone with an addiction, or is curious to learn more about the disease (there is quite a bit of factual information contained within the book, as well as extra resources cited.) PHEW.

Now that I'm thinking about it - why is it that drugs and their usage have become so glamorized in our society? A quick search of "drugs", for example, on weheartit.com brings up images such as the following, rather than pictures showing the destruction and harm caused by drugs (although I do admit to getting a chuckle out of the t-shirts in pic #2):

The negative (even deadly) side effects and consequences of drugs are preached to us through school, from parents, by the government, and even sometimes through media like TV and music, from a young age. Now that technology is heavily integrated into our lives and information is increasingly easy to access, you'd think that either the law enforcement officials would be able to catch the people creating/distributing/using drugs, or people would learn enough about them that they'd never want to touch them.

However, I suppose that this ultra-easy and efficient way of accessing information also makes it easier for people to learn how to create and obtain drugs. Hmm. :/ All technology has it's pros and cons, I suppose... WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

Also: I'd like to post something I wrote a few years ago that I think really exemplifies my feelings recently. This has been a fucking weird July, and I can honestly say that I've experienced more emotions in the last couple of weeks than I have in my entire life up until then. Tell me what you think:

Untitled (by me)
Maybe you should begin to apologize for all that you've done wrong.
Fucked up, but it's okay - they'll forgive you in the end.
I never will.

Forget the flashing headlights and the screeching owls and brakes and cats outside your window when we were making love by your TV set.
And I loved you once upon a time, ago... forgotten.

Now it's just baggy shirts and bleeding ink to remind me of how I spent the month of December.
Oh, sure, baby, you're beautiful; oh, sure, baby, you're not so sure.
And I'm not so sure I want to have anything to do with you.

It's a shore thing...barefoot and bleeding, I cast you into tumbling waters and left you to drown.
Now all I need to do is dress these wounds.

And that was how I spent the month of December.

Apologies for the wordiness of this post. I've got a lot on my mind. Also - I'm working on a story currently, and I hope to post bits of it throughout the next while as I work to finish it.

Leave a comment! :) ♥

066. | Daisy Dukes, bikinis on top.

Just a short post today to let you all know I'm not dead. (I might as well be, though, because I've been sick for the past two weeks and my body has pretty much given up on functioning at an intelligent, energetic level. Erg.) While the sun shines outside and my friends party day&night, I'm stuck inside watching daytime television, reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and trying not to tear out my swollen tongue/throat/lungs in frustration and boredom. I love summer vacation.

Endless hours of music videos and the internet have kept my spirits up a little, however. Katy Perry's "California Gurls" has been playing over and over in my head as my mind makes a feeble attempt to convince itself that I will soon be, post-recovery, a hot, luscious Californian, frolicking in the sand with lollipops and cute beach boys. Sigh. THE SONG IS JUST SO GODDAMN CATCHY. (And Katy's cute. ♥)

(Is it just me, or has Miss Katy suddenly got a bit more goin' on up top in her lady cupcakes? See picture 3. Hmm...)

& one last thing -
TOTD: Men in pink: sexy or not? Lemme know.

065. | Come on and give me a kiss. Come on, I insist. I'll be something new; a metamorphosis.

Well, hello there, beautiful people! ♥

Today is a lovely day... NAHHT! I actually think that the following picture describes how I feel today (and have felt for the past couple days):

(image from weheartit)

(Yeah. It's been a shitty time.)

I've been in and out of emerg for the last couple of days because my lungs have decided, "FUCK YOU WE'RE GONNA DO OUR OWN THING, BITCH!" and have proceeded to make breathing a challenge. Anyways, after being rushed in to the hospital multiple times, I FINALLY got to talk to a doctor, and he gave me tons of meds and inhalers and stuff for my lungs. YAAAAY 4 DRUGZZZZZ. (And, y'know, being able to breathe without wheezing or sounding like a squeak toy. And Canadian health care. Word.)

But aaaaanyways. TIME TO MOVE ON. :)

The lovely Mimi of Soy Confessions tagged everyone who read her most recent blog post to do this little quiz-survey-thinger. SO HEEERRREE I GOOO! *insert dramatic hero music*

1. What shoe size are you?

Anything from 9 to a 10, depending on the shoe brand and style. I HAVE HUGE FEET AND WILL STOMP ON YOUR MOTHER IF YOU PISS ME OFF. :)

2. Where do you work?

As we have learned from my vlog, I'm a lifeguard/swimming instructor at the local pool. It's pretty awesome. I love teaching lessons (usually) and the people I work with (sometimes).

3. Favorite piece of clothing you own?

OOOOH UMM. I love everything I own, DUUHHHRRR. Stupid.

JUST KIDDING! I actually ADORE TO BITS&PIECES my pleather LEATHER (*shifty eyes*) jacket from H&M.

(It's buttery soft, so when people ask me if it's real leather I put on an oversized fake grin and say in my most oh-so-casual voice, "YAH UV COURSE IT IS! HAHAHA....Haaaa...WANNA TOUCH IT?!?" and they totally believe me. Or something.) It's periwinkle in reality, but looks kinda purple in the picture. :/

4. Your favorite blog?

I love love love LOOVVEE lots of blogs & bloggers! Check out my "devour" sidebar. :)

5. Do you have any pets?

2 kitties whom I love more than anything in the world. ♥ They'll one day make an appearance on the blog, promise. They're too cute!

6. How many siblings do you have?

None. HELL YEAH, ONLY CHILD BITCHEZZZZ. ;) (Besides, I think my parents were scared of having another kid as unmanageable as me.)

7. If you could live anywhere where would it be?
Rome. I've been there 4 times, and I wish more than anything that I could go back, buy a cute little house, and just live there among hot Italian men, eating gelato all day. Sigh... ♥

(image from weheartit)

OROROR Venice! That was the ultimate BEST place I've ever been, but I think I might get sick of the boating everywhere thing. I like driving too much. ^^'

(image from weheartit)

8. What were you doing before this?
Facebookin'. I'm shamelessly addicted.

9. Your favorite food?

I love trying new food! Foreign cuisine is where it's attttt! :D~

10. Do you have a middle name?

Nikole. Spelled with a "k" because my parents are OH SO ORIGINAL or something. ;)

11. Your favorite websites?

Facebook fo sho. I also spent a ridiculous amount of time on blogs.

12. Who do you tag?

EVERYONE WHO READS THIS. Do it or I'll crush you with my giant shoes. >:)

PS. Hoping to upload another vlog soon! AND THIS IS JUST SUPER BITCHIN':

(image from weheartit)

I am SUPER JEALOUS of whosever nails these are. :O Like honestly. I WANT THESE FOR MYSELF. ♥
Also, now that we're talking about it, who else has seen (AND ABSOLUTELY LOVED) Toy Story 3? Tell me about itttt.
