Hit me baby, one more time!

Wow, am I ever glad denim is becoming a "trend" again. (Not that it's ever totally unpopular, because everyone wears jeans, but we'll put it this way - I'm glad I can wear my denim jacket again without getting (verbally) beaten up by some Prada-wearing chump.) I'm especially excited with all the new innovative ways to wear denim this season. Just please don't pull a K-Fed/Britney (you all remember that picture, right? Matching denim-on-denim! *shudders*).

Thankfully, some celebs know how to do it right.

All three of these ladies know how to make a statement with just one gorgeous piece. I also like how their looks are all undone, casual, rock-chic. That's what denim this season should be about!

Then there are the not-so-fortunate fashion-challeneged girls...

Let's clear this up: denim-on-denim is NEVER acceptable, ever. Got it, Jessica? It makes you look like an 80's love-child slob and is embarrassing for both yourself and your little girl. And, apparently, Hayden doesn't have a clue how to dress to suit her body type, because both her jeans and her shirt are incredibly unflattering and hit all the wrong places. Use your denim for good, not evil!

I have to admit I have a serious case of denim-lust right now. I yearn for a happier time, filled with terrible 90s catch-phrases, the last of the leg-warmers, and greasy, gelled hair. ..... Too bad I'll soon be a starving college kid, living in dismal 2010. :'( You guys will have to buy all these fabu pieces and wear them, just for me, mmmmkay?

69. I'm afraid to sleep because of what haunts me, such as living with the uncertainty that I'll never find the words to say - that would completely explain - just how I'm breakin' down.

(Sleeping Sickness - City & Colour)

1. OHMYGOSSHH. Is anyone else completely and totally inlove with the new TV series Pretty Little Liars?!?!?!?

GAAAHH. Holy jeebus. I have become completely and totally hooked on the show, and every Tuesday night is like Christmas morning when I was five. I mean, it's just oh-so-dramatic and deep and insightful (HAHAHAHA, JAYKAY, I just need to try to justify my sudden, insane - and really pathetic- fan-girlishness) that I think about it constantly and wish I knew them.

I mean, come on - there are so many things going on at once I practically need a palm pilot to dedicate to this series! It's like the new soap-opera-mixed-with-the-Hills-with-a-dash-of-Gossip-Girl-and-a-splash-of-the-O.C. And, somehow, it's completely appealing, no matter how totally ridiculous and completely unrealistic it is.

And, of course, most importantly, they live fabulous lifestyles (mostly) and look gorgeous all the time. Naturally, since I'm addicted to polyvore and want to own every single piece of clothing in Aria's closet, this happened:

3. I've recently re-discovered and become totally consumed by the awesome addictiveness/repetitiveness that is Pokemon, which I have been playing on my Nintendo DS endlessly over the past few days. Unfortunately, I suck and have only fought one Gym Leader so far. :'( ISN'T THIS GAME MEANT FOR 8 YEAR OLDS ANYWAYS?!?! Baaahhh. But the graphics are so colorful and the Pokemon are so adorbs! UGGHH. Faacckk yoouuu, clever Japanese game designers!

See? Totally irresistibly cute!

+ awesome fighting action sequences! SHAHHHBAAHHMM.  >:D

4. I'm 18 in three days. Which means I'm legally an adult where I live. Which means I can legally do all the things that I now do illegally. Which means that I'll have responsibilities. Which means Saturday is like a double-edged sword. (Also, I'll have to say goodbye to childhood.                                                                                                                                  HAHAH JUST KIDDING. I'm gonna be making fart jokes and giggling like a school girl when I'm fifty.)

ANYWAYZ, my 18th will be full of alcoholic, partyin' fun. ;)

Yay for glorified shenanigans and liver damage! :D

059. | Rebel girl, you are the queen of my world.

Apologies for the extended (and unexplained) absence. School + work + homework + extra-curriculars + drama + social life = stressed-out and constantly-busy blogger.

And now, to make everything just even better, I caught a horrible flu. Yaaaay.

Lately, as the weather has gotten warmer and I've slowly begun to pack away my hoodies and boots for the season, I've been dreaming of days spent swimming, skateboarding, and slurping on slushies (woah, alliteration time!). Also, I'm planning on chopping all my hair off after grad in June. It's nearly shoulder-length now, with way-too-long bangs, and I can't stand it! I think I'll go back to my previous pixie cut.

These pictures not only make me dream of warm July afternoons under a big oak tree, but of a carefree vacation full of scrapes, bruises, and road trips. It's not fun without blood, sweat, and tears, right? Besides, (tom)boys always have more fun. :)

What are YOUR summer dreams?

058. | I'm alone on a bicycle for two.

My eyes are so bleary.
I guess I'm young, but I feel so weary.
I've tried to express it, but I think it's all a bore.

It's at the heart of me; a very part of me.
Speak slowly; I can't hear you.
My mind keeps spinning closer and closer to the rain on the roof.

And the rain in my head, and the things that you said.
People take it further ahead, and it just gets so foggy.

It's nowhere in here, and it's everywhere else that I don't wanna be.
But I'm stuck here getting misty over you.
I'm alone on a bicycle for two.

Black Hole - She & Him.
My ultimate summer soundtrack would involve lazy acoustic, flowy skirts, "the artsy type", faint tan lines, and lovin'.
What about you?

051. | Look, we've had similar stitches. Look, we have similar frowns.

Have you seen them? The words cut open?
Your poor intestines can't deny when the inky periods drip from your mailbox and blood flies dip and glide.
Reach down inside. There's somthing living in these lines.

And when your newest kisser is peeking...
You dress yourself up tonight; get all tangled up in arms and legs.
It's cramped up and someone grabs ahold. Do you go, "ohhh"?
Should you go home?

There's something starting, don't know why.
And in a house so cozy, few words are spoken.
Let's take our shoes off and unwind when there's minuets off in the background, drowning out eyes, off ears, off test, the kiss goodnight.

Don't keep my loving on my mind.
Because it's messy; yes, this mess is mine.
Though mine is messy, yours is maybe nine.

Did You See the Words - Animal Collective. The ultimate hazy, star-gazey summer song. <3 (A.C. are my new lovers. FYI.)

040. | You and me and the devil makes three.

RANTYRANTRANT.

Today = SHITTIEST DAY EVER.

01. Dreamt last night that someone representing the university I was accepted into came to my house to talk to me, then proceeded to chase me around my house with various knives. They stabbed me repeatedly, ripped open my stomach with their bare hands, and ate my intestines. Scary-ass dream in which I could "feel" everything. (This is the last time I drink an Ice Cap before bed!)
02. Woke up over 45 mins late. Ugh.
03. My hair absolutely, totally, completely REFUSED to part, for some unknown reason. I fought with my comb for over 20 mins.
04. Then, tried to put mousse into my still-damp hair. The trigger got stuck and I ended up with a head disguised as a massive dollop of whipped cream. Didn't have time to shower (again), so massaged it in as best I could.
05. Hairspray can decided to leak all over my hand. I kid you not. (I don't care how amazing this spray is, I am suing Dove for getting my favorite shirt all sticky, along with my head of already disgustingly-greasy hair.)
06. Froze my ass off on the way to school in my car whose heating system decided to PMS.
06.5. (I actually HAVE PMS.)
07. On the way to school in said car, I almost hit a bunny. A cute, adorable, white bunny. (I'm fairly sure that if I had actually struck this thing, my mind would have exploded.)
08. Late for class, and almost couldn't get into my parking stall because the two douchebags who park on either side of me decided to angle park...at like 160 degrees. In their massive trucks.
09. After school, I had to work. Tuesdays are days where I teach swimming lessons at work, and the kids in these classes are almost all a) demons b) bad listeners and c) stupid as a stump. Plus, the water is cold and the kids sneeze all over/kick you.
010. Discovered that I actually have no idea how to do half the things on my physics test tomorrow. Gave up studying because I realized that math will always > me.
011. My parents informed me that we actually can't go up to the city to pick up my grad dress, which FINALLY came in, this Saturday because they have tickets to some stupid slapstick comedian. (This is AFTER I bent over backwards to get this day off work and my escort booked the day off so he could come up too and pick out a tie, shirt, etc.) FML.
012. I feel sick.

GRAWR.

I tried to forget about my sadness by eating ice cream and watching Patrick Chan skate. However, his performance today in the short program kinda sucked and he probably won't get a medal tomorrow. Oh well. I guess it's one of those days for everyone...

At least he's cute (even if his one eye kinda creeps me out). <3

I really heart Asian boys. ^^ And male figure skaters whose names AREN'T Johnny Weir(d).

No. Just...no. (Although, I guess I can appreciate the fact that he's a Lady Gaga fan?)

Oh, and just because I happened to watch Zombieland the other day:

(Hey, might as well prepare, right? It'll be difficult to try to suddenly fit in once everyone's already started eating brains and dressing from the landfill.)

Le sigh. On to happier things.
While reading Death of a Salesman in English today, our batshit teacher started going on about Victorian hair art (which stemmed from our original conversation about a diamond watch fob; go figure). Turns out this stuff is pretty ornate.

"Jewelry made with hair is dated back to at least the 1600's, when hair bracelets were given as love tokens by both men and women."

"Hair was valued for sentimental reasons at a time when there were no photographs."

"Today there are only a few Hair Artists who are making this type of jewelry. There are no schools where one can go for instructions, so this art is self taught. An enormous amount of time is spent learning the different techniques. Hair Art like any other art is a constantly evolving process."

Although the idea is really unique, I personally don't think I could wear someone else's hair on my wrist or ears or shirt... gives me the creeps. What about you?

ps. Friends' 18th this Saturday. Drunken pictures will surely follow. :D
